i have a QuietOne pump 4000 as a return with a T going back to fuge. it was making alot of bubbles first, i hated it. bubbles going through DT and alot of noises. so i made another T with a hose going to drain. this eliminated noises and bubbles immediately but little slower rate(flow). so i was thinking what if i did this with a drain pipe? i hope you get my drift

water going down from the pipe

the pipes with primer is the one going to the fuge and the hose going all the way to the right

The noise is most likely from trapped air trying to escape the lines... You can build a standpipe to vent air out of the top which will quiet the noise.

Check out the first picture in this link. While you do not need to utilize the drainage system... the air vent/standpipe construction will be the same. You would construct it like the middle pipe, with a small hole drilled in the top of the cap.
