nice rock and nice setup
that's one way of getting your rocks off LOL

If you plan on having some open swimmers like tangs though--it might be a little too much rock and not enough swimming room

how wide is the tank--24 inches--hard to tell from the picture--but how much space at between the front glass and rock work to you have

its only 18" wide. the tank is 6' long 18" wide and 30" high. i left room under the rocks and there is some room to go through the rocks too. i only have 2 clown fish hippo tang and green chromeis. i want to start getting some coralline algae to grow and put some corals in.

I like the pic on the left... I've seen many smaller, high aquarims aquascaped as such. You will just want to make sure to leave room for the water to circulate around and through the rocks which will lessen the opportunity for dead spots, deritus to settle, and algae to bloom.

Oh... I just noticed the fish on the right... tanks that are usually stocked tight with rock consist of community reef fish. If you are looking toward agressive fish or triggers, they will need ample swimming room and you may not want to pack it as full.

and there is always the option of spreading out the live rock between sump and refugium--its all part of the same water column so it doesn't matter where the live rock is
(but attention to decrease flow is important over the live rock)
