Hello

I have been reading a bit about calcium chloride for reef and was woundering why is everyone recommending 77% dowflake when i found 97% calcium plus that is Calcium chloride, isnt more pure better?

Depends on what's in that other 3%. We use Dowflake because Randy did some extensive testing on it, and it's tried and true. There are probably some other very viable substitues. I'd suggest asking in the Chemistry forum to see if any of the gurus there know anything about the product you're speaking of. What is the name of said product by the way?

The primary thing in the 100-77% = 23% is just water. It is calcium chloride dihydrate. :)
