I use the G9 as my backup to my Xti. Love it that a small camera has RAW.

Where are you finding those deals? Be careful about finding deals that sound too good. There are a lot of places selling gray market products and other scams out there. Make sure you find reviews for the website you are ordering from.

I am trying to decide between these 2 cameras as well.

S5 has added zoom. Less $$
G9 has added resolution and RAW. More $$

The deals mentioned above sound way too low to be true. What site is this? Probably gray market.

Have you looked into the Panasonic FZ8 or FZ18? I have the FZ8 and love it. Here are some pics I just took with it at the Aquarium in Long Beach...

You can get the FZ8 for under $250 and it shoots raw, 7.2 megs, 12x zoom, great IS, and other features that are usually found only on more expensive cameras.

I just got a G9 and that price sounds really cheap!! Good camera though especially with RAW photo and video.

That place was a bait-and-switch shop. I ordered from profeel...it was $438.50 shipped.

Dobbs, what site were you finding those prices at even the link you list shows all their affiliates selling the camera for $450? Thanks.

Just picked up a G9 a few weeks ago. Great camera, can’t wait to get some time to learn more about it. Shots in auto are really good for a point and shoot.

Only had mine for a short time and still learning the in’s and out’s but so far so good. Happy with some of the tank/coral shots and some general purpose settings, kid birthday and work outing. Looking forward to see how well it performs on some nature & landscape shots. Have not tried the movie function but didn’t really buy it for that.
