When the light is off during the night, in my tank appear hundreds of mollusk-like inhabitants. They look like very little snails with very hard conus-shaped shell. They crowl on the rocks and on the side glass.
My main concern is - are they harmful to my system? How can I reduce their population?
Here they are:

stomatella snails (http://images.google.ca/images?hl=en&q=stomatella+&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi) , free cleaners :)
they are harmless and their population will be controlled by your other inhabitants and the amount of food present.

Thanks very much!
Yes, they do look exactly like limpets.
But should I be concerned about their population in my tank? After all I read they are algae cleaners and I have some algae.
