When your tank is low on water, do you guys replace the water with primed water/ro water or just new reef water?

Assuming your water level has dropped due to evaporation, you need to top off with ro water.

Salt does not evaporate, so you use unsalted water (RO/DI) to top off. It is also possible to lose saltwater through your skimmer and with salt creep, so continually check your specific gravity/salinity and adjust as necessary.
