hey ya, will the PH of a water sample change if it is in a plastic container for about 10 mins? i am taking a sample of water form my Ca reactor to a friends house and i was wondering if it will be accurate?

Submerge the container and put the lid on under the water, leaving no air in the container with the water, and the pH should be stable enough to get to there house. Its the C02 introduced/released that changes the pH.

The pH will vary with temperature, but there's not much you can do about that. I don't know how big the effect will be, though. You could reheat the sample, but I'm not sure it's worth the effort.

I think you will have better luck if your friend brings the test kit to your house
