I have been looking fotr the thread that shows the modification of the beckett style skimmers to create more bubbles.

From what i recall the inlet had to be higher for quicker bubble contact?

Can anyone direct me to the thread please?

My MRC-2 has a riser tube to make the inlet higher. Not sure if it helps with bubble production but it allows me to run the skimmer wetter by running the water level in the riser tube higher.

It's really simple, just disconnect where the inlet goes into the skimmer body, and add a section of pipe. Use adapters on the ends so everything screws together.

I can't compare this particular unit before and after, because I bought it used and the first owner did the modification. But I will say that my skimmer before this was also beckett, and the injector was only about half the height of the riser tube, and if I ran the water level too high water came out of the injector rather than air sucking in. So the whole reason I got this skimmer was to be able to have the option to run it wetter. That's the whole benefit of becketts anyway IMO.
