Now after 14+ years in the reef hobby I should have some idea of what lights will be good for what animals, but this whole Nano thing is new to me!

So I have some zoos, Acans, chalises and various other LPS that I kept when I sold my big tank and I was wondering if the 2 standard 24 pc on a 12 gal nanocube will be enough for them? Or how much PC would I need? I have a fellow reefer who is selling a 12 gal AP with 96 watt corallife fixture, but I wanted the clean slick look of the all in one hoods (It for my office so it need to look nice!) I would also like to avoid spending $$$ to get an upgraded hood from NanoCustoms!

You can keep all of those under the stock hood though the growth and coloration might not be as good as it would be with higher light.

I also have a BioCube in my office. It did look really nice & clean....But with the upgrade kit from nanotuners in now looks awesome...Even some of my clients ask...what I changed in the tank. But it was only the lights.

Thank you for your illuminating answer to my illumination question Mr. Illuminati! ;)

That kind of what I figured but I have no experience with smaller lights on smaller tanks.

NewFish3, What light upgrades did you go with?

I have a BioCube 14.......Its what they call the 3.24 upgrade..$79.95

Iam not sure which model # for you, but it adds 1 more blue light & 1 more white light, as well as better fans.

Oh Ya......if you want to keep hard corals & really make them pop & be great looking, you really need to have at least 72 watts of light
