Pump on side

Hey i was going to hook up a chiller tommorow inline to my dt and was wondering if I could screw my quietone 6000 dirrectly into the chiller? this would put the pump on its side. It would be fed by vinyl tubing coming from a closed loop. Any body see any potential disasters?

My understanding is that the pump will function in any position.
I have heard anecdotal evidence that pointing the impeller down will trap air in the mag drive portion and shorten it lifespan considerably.

If you are mounting it with the impeller shaft horizontal, this is the correct (Manufacturer recommended) position.

By down do you mean with the pump input facing the ground? Because I was planning on having the pump input facing up.
