Ok I thought I was set on the MSX 200, but the LFS say's he can get the RS135, and need one in the next 2 weeks, and I don't know when the MSX will be available. What do you guy's think ,are they about the same in performance.

My LFS is recommeding the RS135 for my 110 with medium to high bioload. I don't know much about the MSX200. That one isn't too popular around here but when I search for it online, they're sold out! -Ryan

Well considering that we don't know when the MSX will be available, It looks like I will go with the RS135 or if I can fit the RS180 in my sump I will go with that, I hope bigger is better.

As long as you don't overload with fish, the RS135 will be perfect for your 125. I'm using the RS135 on my 155 bow SPS reef and it keeps the water params in an ideal state.

I have a Majestic Angel, two tangs and 9 smaller fish in my reef.

Is their a down side, other than price and watts, to using a bigger skimmer

some people say you can go overboard... and many will argue that you can never over skim. I think you'll be okay as long as your skimmer isn't excessively over sized.

I was set on the same rs 135 for my 125g and when I called the guy at the LFS to buy it he was a REAL pr*ck. I pre-ordered the MSX200, but I've done a lot of research on the euroreef and you'll be fine with it.

You could also upgrade to the 180, but you don't have to IMO. Not unless you plan on having the tank very heavily stocked.

i have both a rs180 and 135.

I always say bigger is better but not for the genx pump that comes with the 180

It is real loud and i replaced it.

They were supposed to be comming out with a new impeller thats suppose to help with the noise. So if they have then go for it.
If you have the skimmer some where that noise is not a problem then i would go for it.

What is total water volume are going for sps or lps what type of fish load.

If sps thats cutting it close but you can do it as mention above.

Have you thoght about DAS. I like euro reef but a duel pump rec would be nice.

Hope that helps
