better off getting all your perameters in check and getting rid of the problem instead of adding chemicals.

your not fixing the problem by using this stuff.

It will work but be careful because if you overuse it you may become completely dependant on it, water changes and monitoring are the best controller.

Additional information: I change 10gl every week and 25gl on the 4th week. My Po is @.20, No3 is @ 20. I have turned back on UV, it was off for several months as bulb was on backorder. This stuff just popped up over the last 2-3 weeks.

For the last 2 months, I have been struggling to keep the cyano under control. I am running UV, phosban in a reactor, and 25% water changes every week. I have resorted to RedSlime control today. I just dosed the tank. I guess we will see what happens...

It look like the Blue life red slime worked. I think. I am developing some yellow stuff in my sand bed. I just had the tank professional cleaned, the the sand bed cleaned. I guy did not find any signs of cyno, but what is this yellow junk?

Well I spoke too soon. Just found more Cyno and treating water again. If this does not work my have to use something stronger.

These products seem to kill animals from time to time. That's part of the risk. My guess is that the decaying cyanobacteria causing problems, either by dumping nutrients into the water column or by releasing toxins. Hard to say, though. You got off lightly; sometimes the whole tank is pretty much gone.
