Not clear on what the difference is between the 2, looking for a skimmer for my 90g. Which would you guys go with?

I'm set on one of these two, just need to figure out what the difference is.

What about a Pacific Coast RPS-1000?

You can put the g-1 inside of the g-2! That's the difference.

I have a G1X on a 37g. I can't imagine using it on a 90g. Also, have you looked at the Octo skimmers?

G1x is not going to be able to handle a 90G. I had it on a 56G and it barely kept up, with recirc, mesh and gatevalved mods.
G2 is the more capable of the two, especially if you can get a Sedra 5000 pump in place of the stock 3500.

I run a G-3 on appx 90g... pulls out a lot of crud, pretty decent unit :)
If I were buying today though I wouldn't even consider ASM... their design is dated IMO.

I think that both of the untis you are looking at are a little small for that sized tank. I just picked up the MSX 160 for my 75g, and LOVE it...about the same price as the ASM's you are looking at but FAR and AWAY better!
