I picked up a bunch of new corals this weekend !

Galaxea Coral.

Torch Coral. The guy that I picked this up from was great ! Under his lights, it was a beautiful green colour, with white tips. I was so excited to get it home. But, under my lights, it's a dull brown colour. Under my actinic lighting it looks GREAT ! Nice bright green, but as soon as I turn my day lights on, it's dull. Oh well, it's still looks cool. You can't tell in the pics, but it's quite big. 5 heads.

And I traded a Pink Hairy mushroom for this Tonga Mushroom. Purple and green, very pretty.

I never meant to come home with this last coral, but my fish guy knows I'm an easy sale. $30 for this brain coral.

AND !! This is a first for me.....I finaly feel somewhat confident about posting an entire tank shot. The tank is only 4.5 months old, and it's come a long way in a short period of time.

Very nice. And good pick ups.

Sure they will look even better in my tank that you are stealing from me. ;)

Technically not yet young lady. Let's get that straight. ;)

But, your tank is looking really good.

Nice.
I would watch the Galaxia, mine has very long sweepers. I think you may have an issue with it stinging the (I cant tell) Zoas. Then you will have some nasty warfare.
Looking good tho.

Edit
I was confusing your Galaxia with your GSP. Why dose your Galaxia have long tentacles and some like mine have almost no tentacles?

I have been keeping an eye on the Galaxea. I was aware of the sweeper tenticles before I bought it. I went home and did a few re arangements in the tank, specificaly to avoid problems.

It's on it's own shelf, and when the sweepers are fully extended (5-6 inches) they still can't reach any other coral. I was kind of hoping that I could place another coral on the shelf just in front of it, (and below) but the sweepers can reach all the way down there.

My fish are camera shy. :p

I have a Percula Clown, a Sixline Wrasse, and a Foxface.

I do want more fish, preferably three anthias, but I'm waiting for the tank to mature a little bit more before I get them. And I would LOVE to have a mandarin, but with the sixline there will be too much competition for food. And I would also love a flame angel, but I want to find one that's already in a tank with corals and not nipping at them.

Thats nice that ur galaxia is doing what its suposed to be doing, mine however only extends its sweepers less then a centimeter, it would look much nicer if it went out to 6 inches tho.

Count yourself lucky. At least you can put another coral in close proximity to it, if it only extends 1cm. I can't put anything close to mine without having it stung to death.

Is your's in low flow area? That's supposed to help with the long sweeper tenticles. The harder the flow, the longer they extend.
