Been thinking about getting a purple tang. I got a 40 gal. breeder tank with a snowflake eel,a coral beauty, solar wrasse, zebra lionfish, and a falco hawkfish with 30 lbs of LR and about 10 lbs. of lace rocks. Lots of caves and good swimming areas. Do you think the purple tang can get along with these guys or are they pretty aggresive.

Well I hate to tell you, but I think your 40gal tank is full up already. Not enough swimming room for a tang to do well in there.

I have to agree.

Also agree. I think the fish would rapidly decline in such a system.

I also agree. I think you are currently overstocked already. Not only that, but PT's are one of the most agressive tangs as well and he will take care of your other fish in such a confined space if you know what I mean.

Don't do it.

but 40 is not big enough for any tang imo

Good Man! Glad you can take the wisdom of the board to heart. Save the tang until you can get a bigger tank!

I bet that 40gal looks awesome already..

Good luck.
