These frags are somewhat new to my tank, about a month or so. But, I've never seen this before, and I have no idea what it is, and how ad it is, if at all. Also, my PE seems to be lacking as well as these spots. It's not happening to every frag, and I've tried things like lowering flow, raising flow, feeding more. I'm at a loss. Anyway, here's the pics, hope someone has some insight for me..

ORA Pearlberry(little harder to see)http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d167/rutz81/P3200037.jpg

Oregon Tort(even harder to see, more towards the base)http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d167/rutz81/P3200039.jpg

Thanks in advance.

Dave

as long as your parameters are in check the algae should go away on it's own after they settle in a bit, just leave them alone and try not to stress them

Not that I doubt what you're saying at all, but, have you experienced this firsthand or are you just assuming this?

Agreed it just looks like you have some algae on them just keep an eye on it to be sure it does not overtake your SPS. Once they settle you can blow it off with a baster usually.

the key is to not move the frags around too much, it just stresses them more which in turn could make it worse

That may be the reason as well; I have been moving the frags around a bit to try and figure out what was causing this. Either getting them further from the light or not in as direct flow, etc... I'll just leave them be and see what happens.

Sailfin: It's not the type of algae that will blow off with a turkey baster, my tank is very high flow, IMO, and the algae is still holding strong. Defintely not a "stagnant" area at all.

well in that case leave them be and monitor them closely.

Ive had this happen a few times myself, I usually gently blow it off with a turkey baster, works well

yeah, just set em and forget em, they should heal up for you, just a matter of time

Dude thats pretty odd. I wouldnt think algae would grow on your sps unless the flesh was gone. Whats your alk?

Alk is 10, could that be an issue?
