Looking to mod a Cauvet SF-4005 timer
I’ve seen people replace the 1uf capacitor with 100uf capacitor or with a 50uf capacitor
Only problem it looks as though the new 2008 models are different.
Anyone have a mod for the new model, or seen a link anywhere?

what is that? I'm familiar with Chauvet lighting as I design and install PA and lighting systems...but I was unaware that people were using any stage lighting or DMX control on their reef tanks :D

it is the cheapest way to have a wave maker, you can get them online for like 30 bucks. I can't remember but there is a aquarium that just re-badges them and sells them for more.

sprite,
If you modified your Chauvet SF-4005 did it make a big difference & was it that easy?
All the links I found on the mods were like 2 years old
Any advise would be appreciated
Thanks

it depends on how fast you want it to switch...it was pretty easy..just unsolder the cap and put the new one in its place through the holes in the board and solder again...yes there is a big speed difference
