Thought I would expand my search from the equipment section. See if any one here has any ideas.. Thank you in advance.

We just built a new set and are using a Pinpoint Temp Meter. Its been reading higher than I was excepting the tank to be. I put in the probe from the old set(Coral Life temp) and its reading much lower. The Coral life is the one we have been relying on for a while now, has it been wrong this whole time or is the new one off? Which one do I trust? FYI, both probes are right next to each other.

While not perfect, you could put both probes into ice water and see what you get. The value cannot be below 32, but could be a degree or two higher.

I'd contact Pinpoint and talk to Lou Dell (owner). I'm sure he'll help guide you to a solution. :)
