Who has had success keeping various sand dwelling wrasses(sleeps in sandbed) for long term? I have a BB tank with lots of rocks and corals and would like to add one of the following,
Anampses chrysocephalus, Halichoeres ornatissimus, Macropharyngodon bipartitus. It's not a common topic discussed therefore I can't any information. Please share your fish experience. Thx.

Simply get a tupperward container, fill with sand and place it in an out of the way part, perhaps behind the rocks. 3 inches of sand should do it.

3 questions:
a: will the wrasse know to go there every night?
b: can one sandbox house mulitple wrasses?
c: will it create a big mess when diving into bed?

I think I know the answers to these, but would like to hear what you think?

1) Yes
2) Depends on how big the container is
3) Not necessarily, maybe some spill over

gman0526-

Are you speaking from experience? I'd feel bad if I woke up one day and the wrasse was pancake shaped because it kept trying to go down into the glass.

These fish are notorious for damaging their mouth as result of searching for the sand. I think the key is for them to locate the sandbox as early as possible upon introduction to the tank. How successful would depend on how quickly that is achieved.
