Question: how terrible an idea is getting an anemone in the near future (say, the next few months)?

My aquapod 12G is going on about 5 months now, and seems pretty stable. I had a hair algae problem, but it looks much better with some chaeto in there. I plan to move it to the back chambers, but for now it is happy on one side of the tank. I have a small false perc and two zoas. Also two toadstool finger leather corals. Lots of live rock (maybe still too much). My long range plan is to add a powerhead to increase flow a little, and maybe add a ATO. Lighting is a MH sunpod. I'm a beginner, as of last November, but haven't had any major problems with the tank, other than the hair.

What d'y'all think? Too risky? If not, what kind would be best?

Well, It would probably be ok if you get one of the easier to keep species, like the BTA (a.k.a Enactmea Quadricolor) or a long tentacled anemone. But even if you get an easier species to keep it's still risky, so just to be safe I wouldn't get one.

IMO the tank is too small. Even if you keep all the params in check and keep it happy, it will simply outgrow the tank in no time (and kill any corals you currently have or prevent you from getting corals).

So I would say no, unless it will be temporary (<6 months ) and you then place the anemone into an established, mature tank (~30 gallons+ the more the better).

Sounds like good advice. Thanks, I'll stick with the zoas
