i have a 150g (72x18x27) i want to add a custom overflow. i cant drill through the bottom, so i would like to see some designs for an external overflow, i have a h.o.b. cpr overflow box, but i'd like to construct something better.

Calfo overflow is nicest imo but you have to drill holes in the back. I like it thin and removable, not sure why people like to silicone it to the back of the tank.
I am making one here, small tank though.

not the prettiest but works well and the design could be altered to fit all kinds of spaces and flow.

I like BeanAnimal's design. I also find this design to be very interesting:

The links through out that thread are also informative and well worth reading.
