TDS Readings

My tds readings are 15ppm on my in tester, and 18ppm on my out tester. Are these numbers to high? Dosent high tds cause aglee growth. Tell me ur tds readings so i can stop worring.

0 tds here how old is your membrane and your di resin? If it's not to old you may want to check your tbs meter for calibration.

Let me clear somthing up. These readings are from water that i buy. Took my water to my friends house with an almost new ro/di system and got these numbers. He gets 0 for his readings on his water. Is 18ppm somthing to worry about?

Just tested my store bought distilled water from Weis markets(grocery store).It tested at 0 ppm for TDS.

The water I used to buy at the store was also a 0 on the TDS meter. Try a different store, or complain.

Still not sure what you mean by in tester and out tester...

TDS is not itself the measure of purity that you most care about. It is useful as a tool to know that a water purification system is working. If you put 18 ppm TDS water into something and it came out 18 ppm TDS, there was no useful purification. If you just bought 18 ppm TDS RO water, that may be OK, but one cannot know for sure since we do not know what is making up that 18 ppm. It surely is not good if if was an RO/DI , but might be typical for RO only.

The water is culligan RO water bought from meijers. Only reason im buying this water is to keep from getting ro/di off my buddy everytime i turn around. Because everyone and their uncle gets water off him and that adds up on his water bill. Some year ill just get my own ro/di set up and then my water problem will be solved.

OK, it may or may not be OK and the TDS doesn't really tell the whole story. But it has a good chance of being fine. Better than tap. :)
