This may sound stupid...but how do you hook it up?

I have been reading about them and it seems you hook it up to where your washer hooks up to. The cold spout?

If you are putting it by the washer. Just put a garden hose Y adapter on the cold spout, and buy an adapter to hook up the 1/4 inch tubing. I put my drain line right in the washer drain pipe.
