i want to use a 8" x 30" tall acrylic with a sedra 900 or 1200 with a lot of air aspirated/venturi like what i have now but it will be recirculating and i want it external. the problem is how to cut the neck its there a place to cut it accurately? maybe in the plastic shop?

Draw a line all the way across the surface of the tube by using a measuring tape (or ruler) and following the measurment. Then use either a super fine hand saw or a fine table saw.
You could try the plastic shop, but they may charge a mininum fee for even the most simple cuts, and they won't gaurentee anything if you did not purchase the part from them.

use a fence and a guide on a table saw to keep the tube at the set length and rotate the tube to get a clean cut. Just a suggestion.

Chop saw put blade in backwards.
