i have a new set-up in the cycle stage . Am I sand suppose to get a dark mold on it.

can you explain the dark mold a little better?

and you may want to hold off on the bumps after only 10 min. as others will think your question has already been answered. patience is the key in this hobby:D

Could be either diatoms or cyanobacteria which are normal in a cycle.

neither can i, the sand looks nice in those pics. but it is prob. diatoms which is common for a new tank

ok thats what i thought and i guess when all my paramters are hit it will go away on its own
