Refuge Light Question

I have a power compact light (10,000 k) over my refuge that mainly houses live rock and chaeto. Before the power compact light I had a regular halogen fixture( 120V/25W) that went under the cabinet. The question I have is why does the chaeto not grow as much anymore under the power compact light. I would think that the power compact light would have more of an impact when it came to growing faster and larger. Could it be that my tank is more established now and the chaeto does not export as much nutrients? What do you guys think?

halogen lights put off more "light" than a power compact, could be it, who knows.

My guess would be the light put off by the PC light is not the correct frequency. Look into get a 6700K light, that would probably be better for the chaeto.
