My cousin has lost interest in the aquarium hobby and would like to sell his stuff. I'm interested in buying all of his LR (10g tank) and making a giant pod pile in my sump. However, his rock is completely covered with cyanobacteria and aiptasia anemones. I'm thinking about just nuking it by leaving it out of water, under a bucket, and just pouring boiling water over it every couple days. However, I don't want to have to re-cure it before I add it to my tank. How can I kill everything without having to cure it?

Killing things = die off

You cure rock because of die off. I don't see a way around it.

Is there a way I can kill EVERYTHING in it? So I can just have dead rock?

If so, I could just wash it in RO for a few days and then add it.
