Anyone using this? Just saw it on Marine Depot, for around 300$ and was considering it for my tank, as I hear they are amazing, however do you need a sump to run this? Or where does it sit? and how does it hook up? It shows no where on the website? Thats why if anyone has one I would love to see some pictures. Thanks =]
it's a stand alone canister, no sump needed. They have a drain and return tube that run from your tank to the canister stitting under the stand/ next to the tank. Imagine a power filter (Whisper/Bio Wheel) but pressurized and sitting under the cabinet instead of hanging on the tank.
I've used the standard canisters - they are solidly built and effective for what they are. As for the 2227 and 2229, I've never used one personally, but they seem to be good canisters with a pulsing return, sorta like a built in wave maker.
sorta.
