I am hoping to get a sun coral as soon as I find a healthy one, and was wondering if it would be okay to feed it mysis daily, by plcing the whole colony into a small container filled with tankwater and thawed mysis?

would it be okay to feed only mysis, and the ocasinal meal of fish eggs?

Mysis good and brine and cyclops and marine cusien. The more the diet is mixed the better for all tank stock. Useing a turkey baster or similar to feed and keep in mind many feed at night so if they dont feed at regular feeding time you will need to feed a few hours after lights out. This may help.GL.

Funny, as I write this I am in the middle of feeding my sun cups and open brain (and yea my neon green candies).

Just turn off your flow and target feed with a small turkey baster or a target feeder that you can get at your LFS.

Make sure to chop up the mysis; i find the polyps get an easier chance of grabbing the smaller pieces that larger.

I also add some DT's to the mix along with some freeze dried cyclops and man do they like it:)

Also, some sun cups, like the yellow cups are easier to feed because they have a longer polyp then say the orange cups that have smaller and shorts polyps.

Nevertheless, feed at least 5 times a week and they will be happy and so will you.

Also, check out Melev's website, Mark's got a lot of good information on caring for sun cups.

Good luck!

cut the bottom off of a 2 litre bottle of soda,& remove the cap.Place it over the coral in the tank drop the food in the top,& cap it up until he gets his grub on.

thanks, will do! I hope I can find some nice specimens soon, I am hoping to get a good mix of all different colors! (of course they will be from different colonies).

It's funny, corals are like kids, when you take a picture and then look back on it a few months later WOW how things have changed. These are my sun cups eating dinner with the light fuly on and flow on and see the response!

They are twice this size today!

those are amazing looking! I am planning to find somewhere with little to no flow to place them, in hopes that they will expand better.
