I have had this duncan since November.

It has been doing great in my tank and has grown another head but in the past few weeks it has not been fully expanding. It has been getting progressively worse. Yesterday I noticed some green/brown ball looking things on it. I could not tell if it was tissue from the coral or something else. I took it out of the tank for closer examination and found this

They look like little worms but don't seem to be moving. What do you think they are and how should I get rid of them?

Not sure what they are, but I'd do a freshwater dip and see if they fall off. They should.

I did a 7 minute dip in a Kent Tech-D saltwater solution. They did not fall off. I would also like to know what in the work this stuff is.

They look like ball sponges but I can't imagine how they'd sstay there.........Nudibranch eggs maybe? Can you suck them off with a turkey baster?

That make me worrysome. Today all of my duncan closed like your, but I don't see any strange stuff... Checked my parameters are OK...

It looks like they are part of the coral.
Info from another post (http://www.marshreef.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=30125)
Now I need to figure out why the coral is unhappy. All of the other corals are doing great in the tank.

Cool information. I've not had any of mine get stressed enough to do anything like that.

Maybe time or a good old fashioned water change. ;)

Is it getting enough flow? Have you changed anything as far as dosing, moved to a new area etc... Do you target feed them?

Nothing has changed except for the addition of a CB butterfly a few months ago and yes it gets target fed almost every day (it was in my seahorse tank). Last week I went ahead and moved him to another tank where I have a duncan that is growing like wildfire. Here is a picture of the other "healthy" one.

Hopefully the sick one will be more happy in this tank. I sure hope so, I really don't want him to infect my healthy coral but that is the risk I took when I moved them into the same tank.

Looks like mine just before I realize it was brown jelly disease, or what appears to be. I dipped it for 10mins in some coral cleanser(reVive) and it seemed to have relived the issue. It's been two weeks and only the affected head died.

Well I am ****ed off that I moved the duncan to the other tank with the healthy specimen. I spoke with Eric Boreman today and poised the question if the rapid decline in health of the duncan could be caused by the same bacteria that is killing all of the elegance corals. He though that it was very probable. (I added a Elegance to the tank back in January that has since died from the elegance syndrome).

I will keep you posted with what happens along with some pictures. Wish me luck.

my duncan was doing great for the first 2 days it was eating and everything. but today it started to droop like an unwatered flower and started to shrivel up. i don't know why though.
