Well my war coral colony had finally reached three inches in diameter and then my acan fell on top of it... Yikes!!! Was my first reaction and the coloring went from bright red and green to deep dark burgundy and now brown, however, now ther is this white film on it? Does anyone have some suggestions.. I've basically tried to keep the environment pretty stable, but is all hope lost?

the war corals are killers so if it looks ok it should be blow the white film off with a turkey baster. the corals are pretty hardy if you cant see the skeleton and the meaty flesh sint disattaching from the skeleton then you should be ok the color change is a sign of stress.

i would think that white film is kinda like a scab. i would leave it for a day or so and see what happens. if you think it gets worse then i would try to blow/scrap the film off and hope for the best.

Stings like that can leave festering wounds, you can treat the coral by removing it from the aquarium and applying some lugol's or coral dip to the stung area. Try not to blow the slime off in your tank as it can land on other corals and cause more issues. In a separate tupperware, flush the area throughly with dip and then place it back in the tank in the usual spot. Keep an eye out for slime or spreading of the damage.
They are really tough as stated above so it will recover as long as no bacterial issues start.
