Help with ID...possible freebie

I know a guy that has this as a hitchhiker in his tank. He is trying to catch it and when he does I may be able to get it off of him. But that is only if this mantis will work in my tank. Otherwise, I will see if he will let me offer it up here. Of course recipient would pay postage but other than that it might be a freebie. This is the only picture so hopefully an id can be made from it:

ternatensis or smithii maybe? Im am definitely no expert, but to me it looks the like one of those.

Looks like a typical N. wennerae color pattern.
