I have an awkwardly shaped frag with I guess 5 or 6 polyps on it. The problem is that as I try and place the frag in the tank it is very hard to keep all the zoanthid polyp on top and away from the rock.

Can I just pull or scrape one polyp away from the frag and attach it to the rock? If I could get the one polyp clear of the frag it would make it a lot easier to place.

Thanks for the help.

cut the mat in between the colony and the polyp you want and then shave or cut the rock or plug out from underneath the seperated polyp.

This is the least stressful way to do it with relatively zero damage to any flesh.

You can also simply scrape or pull the mat up on the spereted polyp and glue it where you want althoug if possible, the first way I list is better.

Agreed. I like to cut, then use a narrow wood chisel to remove the polyp, really taking a thin layer of rock with it.

OK, sounds cool and not too hard. I will definitely use this method.

Does this work for pulling off larger frags later as well?
