If I bought a 240v 250Watt ballast does that mean that I can plug two reflectors into the ballast? Also I saw that the connector on the Lumatek is a three prong, is this considered a RAW cord? Sorry for the newb questions but I have only bought fixtures to date. After looking at the luminarc reflectors and the lumatek ballast it looks like I could put together a sweet little set up. And one more thing Lumatek's are pulse starts correct? So doesn't that mean I have to use a radium bulb or something that can soft start.

Thanks for all the replys,

Dan

The 240v ballest means its made for 220volt outlet, not very commom in the house except for a dryer, AC or Stove. I don't beleave that means you can run two 250watt bulbs thou. The new Lumentek (Purple HeatSink) will fire all bulbs that I know of.

I figured it didn't mean two bulbs, o well. So what kind of cord should I get to plug into the three prong ballast?

That prong is made for a cetain adaptor for either sunlight supply or Hypofarms probley, you may find the adaptor or cut the wire and wire it up manully like I just did.

Sunlight Supply Lumen Max 3 Double Ended HQI Reflector

Have you read anything about this reflector? It doesn't look as good as the Luminarc but I kind of like the dimensions better. I still think I would go with the Luminarc though.

Lumenmax 3 is as good. One reefer did a pretty extensive comparison between the two and found the Lumenmax to be a slightly better performer. If I find the link Ill post it. Either way, you cant go wrong, it's basically a wash both are excellent. The Lumenmax 3 will allow two T5's with reflectors to be added over and 18" wide tank (75 gallon, 90 gallon). The mini Lumenarc DE wont, it's too wide.
