I tried to add a Tridacna Crocea to my reef with a Copperband. I found the clam on its side and I saw the Copperband picking at its foot I righted the clam and it went right for the mantle so it took the clam out right away. I am going to get rid of the copperband but will the clam make a recovery or is it doomed?

will need a pic to see but you'll have to remove the fish now or place something ( with holes for low ) over the clam to protect him. half a pop bottle works good.

I got rid of the fish yesterday. I moved the clam right away to the sump and caught the fish. The clam was not attached to a rock when the fish attacked but it now it is attached to a rock. The mantle looks the same but about a 1/4 of the lumpy part inside the clams large opening is gone. I dont think I can get a picture of the inside.

if by "lumpy" part you mean the gills, he is probably already dead. if not then just let him be and keep a close eye on him.
