I have had two separate zoo colonies in my 29 g for about a year. they have been healthy until about a month ago when they began to not open fully and seem sort of smushed. My parameters are all ok and my mushrooms and xenia are fine. Any suggestions? The lighting and positioning have remained steady since i added them a year ago. Any suggestions?

this is the best pic I could get...but it shows them about as open as they get these days. they look lopsided and pinched, not round and full.

If those are oxygen bubbles around your polyps, you have dinoflagellates. They will encroach upon your polyps and prevent them from opening. It appears from the picture that you have some nuisance algae as well. If gone unchecked, it will not only prevent your polyps from expanding, it will over run/overtake them and they will all die.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
