i want to start a 29 reef. ive been in the hobby for a year and already know the expense, and effort it takes. now i have a ehime canister filter rated for 60 gallons. do you think that would be enougf filtration? also what media should i use?

Generally, the live rock you put in the tank is adequite filtraion as far as the nitrogen cycle. The canisters can be used to polish the water. Carbon and some sort of filter floss is good for that. Just change out the filter floss regularly. Avoid the ceramic media that comes with them.
