canopy fans

Anyone have any links to fans they use in there canopy , 120mm computer fans perhaps??

It will be much cheaper to buy computer case fans, cut the wires and wire them up to a 12v DC adapter. You can get the 12v DC adapter at a local Radio Shack, or probably cheaper online. Each computer fan you get will have a milliamp rating, as should the DC adapter. Just make sure your adapter puts out enough milliamps for the fans. You can wire up more than one fan to a single DC adapter, provided it has enough juice. I think DC adapters will commonly have between 800-1200 milliamps, while the fans will probably draw between 100-200 milliamps.

As a side note, you can get one of those DC adapters with variable voltage, like 3-12v. Reducing the voltage on the adapter will reduce fan speed. Pretty handy if you decide your fans are too noisy, you can turn them down.

I've used these with great success, not complaints at all. Have two of them above my 50 gallon. Seem to move a fair amount of air and are relativity quite.

i use ice cap fans with remote sensors. Not sure I would spend 40.00 on one as I traded for it but, it slows and speeds up depending on the temps in my canopy. Of course with 1000 watts of lights, it runs fast all the time.
