I want to add something colorful and non aggressive. My tank is about 3 weeks away from adding to tenants. Please leave any suggestions of which fish to choose and when I should add them.

Well as a first fish you could add a goby. Firefish maybe?

For a 125g tank, there are lots of choices, but you also need to make sure that what's added is compatible with any future stocking plans. A small goby would be fine, but other fish can end up picking on it. I like royal grammas, but they are fairly common and might not mix with similarly-colored fish.

Any of these reef safe wrasses would be a nice first addition:

I have a Mystery Wrasse (with a 6-line, a Possum, and Checker Board) in my tank and it is meaner then my 6-line. If you plan on more then one wrasse then add this wrasse LAST.

What about a blue tang?

They can be aggressive, but they would be fine in that system.

I would say get a clown or a pair of them. That was my first fish.

Teen aquarist, what else do you have in your tank?

Flame Hawkfish, Pink Skunk Clownfish, pair of false clowns, bulb tip anemone, anemone crab(none of the clowns are hosted in the anemone), Purple Stripe Dottyback, Blood Shrimp and multiple corals.

Oh I was just looking at different fish online (researching) and I wanted to know what other people housed with clown fish...I really like those!

A harem of Anthias are colorful, like to school in the middle of the tank and are mostly peaceful.
They look great in my 120g.
But any additional fish cannot be overly aggressive.

You are most welcome:).

You will find everyone to be most helpful. However, it is always nice on the poster's part if they stay in touch after others take the time to post. Could you please pop into the thread you started about the sand and give us an update?

A tang would most likely be the most aggressive fish and should be added last.

It's always a good idea to make a list of the fish you want and the order you will add them. You should add the timid fish first and the most aggressive fish last. You can post it on RC for advice.
