clown pairing question

recently i purchased a small true percula about 1 1/4 inch and is doing fine btw
a week later i purchased another true percula about 1 1/2 inch
so ive read that clowns will fight to show dominance but not sure exactly how it works
its been about 3 days since i purchased my 2nd percula and heres what ive noticed
my smaller perc (1 1/4") chases around my bigger one (1 1/2") every so often

I would like to know what can i conclude from this observation?
from what ive read the female(the larger clown) is the one that chases the male(smaller clown)

what kind of problems?
the bigger perc has some nipped fins right now but if it gets really bad i will remove the smaller one

at the size i posted will clowns be already a male or female?
also i only introduced the 2nd clown a week later after the 1st
assuming the 1st clown was genderless when i bought him,can it turn into a female durring the week it was alone?
at my lfs they were in a tank with about 6-8 clowns
