I have ordered the micromesh kit and have a fully stocked reeftank, 7'x2' ACRYLIC on the front pain. It is quite hazy and scratched. I understand it will be a lot of work... but how long do we think this will take to do with a magnavore magnet while in the tank?
I should start w/ what grit? No real heavy scratches that you can feel mind you, just want clarity again.
I do not use chemical cleaners on the front, but the prior owner may have done so... I'm planning to try novus 2 on the front w/ a power buffer, would this possibly reverse haziness from the prior owner?

Is the tank full or is it empty?

oh, it's fully stocked, so I'm not going to be draining it just to buff it. I've heard to expect over 50 hours of labor!? That's unreal. Mine is not badly scratched, a few minor hairline scratches and the haziness is my goal to remove.

Buff the outside with novus 3 first, then hit it with some 2. Will go much better that way.
For the inside, id just skip the magnavore and use your arm. But you will have to do the entire inside front panel as to not form any distortions. How low of grit did the micromesh kit come with?
If you are worried about ruining the tank, dont be, we start with 400 grit here in the shop and even that comes out, just takes time.

I'm planning on using novus 2&3 on the outside w/ an orbital random sander unit.
For the inside, my arms can even reach that deep, a magnet is needed unless it's empty. I'll do the inside first incase I scratch the outside during this process. I'm more concerned with if it's reasonable to do this 7'x2' pane in under 4 hours labor?
also, what grit should I start with for scratches that do not catch my fingernails? Just to eliminate the hair scratches and white haze.

under 4 hours, I wouldnt count on it. The outside will be quick, but the inside is gonna take a long time without an underwater sander
Start around 3200 grit if there is only very fine scratches.
