Washing live rock.........

when rinsing live rock.

Should I do it in water that was siphoned from main tank or wash in NEW RO salt water? I just want what is best for the rock.

if your just rinsing it to get newspaper ink, dirt, sand, detritus etc.. off the rock tank water is great IMO. If your soaking it for a long time, fresh may be better, depending on how dirty your tank water is

If you happen to be doing a water change, I'd use the old water from the tank to rinse live rock, and put the new saltwater into the system. I don't think it'll make that much difference, though.
