Its a 50mg per hour one. I was looking at pinpoint and others but the book states I should use a reasea brand. Will it make a big difference if I dont use the same brand. Can you recommend something for me.

People seem happy with the PinPoint ORP controller, from what I can tell. Others have been successful with the MilWaukee. If you want to go high-end, we can find some other brands.

On reflection, do you need just the problem, or is this Red Sea device just an ozone generator? Sorry, I don't know what that piece of equipment is, exactly.

Thanks yeah I didnt want to spend more than the PinPoint or Milwaukee cost. Is one favored over the other all I need is the probe.

I likely would go with the PinPoint, but companies like Cole-Parmer and LabSafety.com sell a wide variety of probes. Some of the chemists might have some suggestions.

In general, all ORP probes are compatible with all ORP meters/controllers. There are potential differences in quality, cost, and perhaps other issues. I use a Pinpoint ORP probe with my various brand ORP meters (Chemcadet and Orion).

Thanks guys good info to know. I just check my accuracy of my coral vue probe with the Milwaukee referance solution and its still right on. I just dont like how they give you a big margin of error (200-275), the probe put out 220 so im right there.

Really, that is excessively large. Next time I'd try the Pinpoint 400 mV solution. :)

I called Brian at Milwaukee and he said that if my probe was 235-255 that was about perfect. So im off a bit, would it be safe to assume that my orp probe is always 15mv off?

Theoretically, if an ORP probe/meter does not match a perfect calibration solution by a certain mV value, then yes, it will be off of any solution by about that same amount. :)
