Thinking of upgrading my skimmer, and found a good deal on a Prizm, was wondering if anyone uses/has any experience with them here, and can let me know if it's worth my time - I'm running a SeaClone 150 right now (on a 29gallon)... Thanks!

Woody-

It'd work on a 29; but for the same money, you can do better. I have a 29G QT That I run a Prizm on; it works well, but...

I bought it for $40.. :)

I've heard good reviews on the Typhoon, and the Terminator. Th Precision Marine Hang-On is also supposed to be good. Keep in mind; these are all second hand experiences, so take them for what it's worth.

Thanks! Yeah the guy wants 50 for the skimmer, I'm sure I can get him down to 40 - just wanted to know if it was worth my time, or if I should stick with the SeaClone...

get it, prizm is great for its size and application IMO.

I've been reading a lot about it being fussy with adjustments etc - any truth to this, or is it just like a normal skimmer?

I've found it to be extremely fussy on adjustments. Also you basically have to run it with the lid off of the collection cup. The lid sits very close to the mouth of the chamber, inhibitting spillover in to the collection cup, so it gets clogged up really easily. 40's a good price for the Prizm, but if you're upgrading I'd hold out and make a substatial upgrade by going for a CPR hang-on or AquaC Remora.
