I just saw that you have PC's put it up as close to the top as possible.

In a 25 gallon tank it should be OK on the bottom where you have it with the PC lights.

Croceas are known for living in the rock work of the natural reef.

Looks like a Crocea clam to me.
I got one which is larger than yours, from reading
I have gather that Crocea clams are very light demanding
clams...however there are lots of hobbiest who are now keeping
all types of clams under T5'S.......they're kept a bit higher to absorb light.
Keeping yours under PC'S would mean your clam will not show its
glamorous colors,It will certainly not die,but colors will be a bit limited...
your clam looks very nice under PC's Though.
cheers

you can usually just grab them up by hand. Problem is that they regenerate faster than T2. chop off an arm accedentaly, BOOM, new starfish haha. Maybe if you could mount lasers on a miniture submarine and then just blast them. There are a few things that will eat them, but you might be better off just trying to pull them out when you see them. I am yet to see the long term effect of having these in an aquarium, but I know they are definately not reef safe.

u should change to T5 or metal halide if you want to keep clams derasa clams might be ok in pc lighting if they are keep up high in the the rock work, But they grow kinda fast. crocea clams need the most light out of all of the clams.

My live rock is kinda steep not much place for them if they move a lot. Do they move ? Will they stay where you want them ?

as we all know things are tight all over. Realy can't change the lighting on this tank economics. hope I can get away with five and a half watts of power compact lighting to keep these things healthy till I get my 75 gal going. I got a t-5 435 watt on that tank .
