hey guys..i just got the instant ocean test...did everything...I ended up putting 7 drops in the container..then it said to divide by 2. That gave me 3.5 so it said to multiply that by 50 so i did giving me 175ppm is that right? also i checked my calcium it is at 480 ppm...Please help...

also i have a 9 gallon tank...i will start using bionic....so am i suppose to put 9 ml to increase the alk by 0.74???

What I believe he means is that the test kit said to divide the number of drops by 2 which gives you 3.5 meq/l then you multiple that by 50 to get 175 ppm. I've never used the instant ocean test kits so I don't know. Your calcium is fine. And from what I've read I'd say your alk is fine as well.

3.5 meq/L does equal 175 ppm calcium carbonate equivalents for alkalinity, and that is a fine value. :)
