View Full Version : What is an acceptable PH swing?

From what I've read I believe the more stable the parameters the better. However, my PH swings based on the time of day when lights are on or off anywhere from the 7.9s to the 8.2s. Is this acceptable? What kind of harm (if any) will this do to SPS and LPS?

Thanks in advance!

That is about normal and fine.

I personally do not worry much about the actual daily pH movement, just whether the extremes are OK or not. Organisms very tightly control their internal pH, so having it move around within normal ranges doesn't impact them, IMO. That is different than temperature or even salinity for the most part.
