Used AquaC's with cracks

I've seen quite a few AquC ev-120's and 180's lately on the used markets and ebay. many of which have these "age cracks". i have heard this is normal with some acrylic, but I dont know if it is really true. Is it?

Also... even if cracked couldnt you mend it with some weld-on?
