Phos ban and cheto

If I run Phos ban on my tank will it have an effect on my ball of cheteo in my sump? Im having a small bout with brown hair algea. Tried new bulbs,water changes etc,etc, to no avail.

I use both, hasn't seemed to slow the chaetomorpha down.
