whats the trick ive always had drilled tanks.

If you are using a HOB overflow stick a piece of tubing in the U shaped pipe and suck. After you get a mouthful of water (unless you stop in enough time which I never seemed to be able to do) pull out tubing and bingo.

Make sure both end of the U are submerged.

This is what i do, i put it in water, then suck, wait until i see flow getting about half way, then i put my thumb on the part i was sucking on, and then aim to bucket, and it always continues.

Thanks, worked great, cept for the mouthful of saltwater and fish poop i got!! lol.

yeah tangs in a 10 are a joke.

you could do the same with a wet vac with small hose or vac pump no water in mouth

Make sure the bucket the water is going in is lower that your tank.

Try using a longer length of tubing if you keep getting water in your mouth.
